Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • Assorted food colouring
  • White vinegar

Method

  1. Carefully place the eggs in your Tefal Air Fryer and cook for 15min at 120°C (or boil in a pot).
  2. Remove the eggs with a spoon and place in a recipient of iced water to stop the cooking process.
  3. Prepare the colouring solution. In a container large enough to immerse the eggs, mix hot water, a few spoonfuls of white vinegar and the food colouring. The vinegar will help fix the colouring to the egg shell.
  4. Place the eggs in the red solution. Make sure they are completely immersed. The time needed to obtain the desired colour may vary, but it is generally recommended to leave them to soak for at least 10 minutes for a deep, rich colour. The longer the eggs remain in the dye, the more intense the colour.
  5. Once the eggs have reached the desired shade of red, carefully remove them and place them on a wire rack or paper towel. Avoid rubbing or wiping them, as this could remove the colour.
  6. Once the eggs have dried thoroughly, you can polish them with a little vegetable oil to give them a shine. Use a paper towel or soft cloth to apply the oil in a thin layer.

Tip: You can also colour them with beetroot juice or red onion skins. You can also put stickers on them before colouring them to create patterns on your eggs.
